Summer sports \u2013 a whole week long \u2013 plus English with lots of action \u2013 a whole new experience, what could we expect?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong>For the first time, we \u2013 the MINT MS Wartberg \u2013 travelled to St. Johann im Pongau to try out a new combination: a week full of English lessons and summer sports activities.<\/p>\n After travelling along the motorway and passing through the city of Salzburg, we arrived at our accommodation \u2013 the Schlosshof Youth Hotel \u2013 at around 10 a.m. All around the building we saw amazing facilities: a large indoor sports hall with a big trampoline area and a beautiful swimming lake, where we hoped to dip our toes at some point during the week.<\/p>\n Our days began with breakfast \u2013 at a time when we would usually already be sitting in class. All our meals were served buffet-style \u2013 and what a buffet it was! For lunch and dinner, we were spoilt with a variety of dishes: soups, schnitzel, K\u00e4ssp\u00e4tzle, wraps, roast pork and Kaiserschmarrn. The highlight, however, was the barbecue evening on Thursday with its metre-long buffet.<\/p>\n Each day, we had four \u201cEnglish in Action\u201d sessions in the morning and two in the afternoon. After that, it was time for our favourite activities: sports, puzzles, and fun in the indoor hall. The sports highlights were jumping on the trampoline, playing table tennis and table football. Thanks to our teachers, we had the hall to ourselves and could organise team competitions and all kinds of ball games in the afternoons.<\/p>\n During team challenges and the outdoor ralley, we proved that we are flexible and great at working together. All in all, the programme was incredibly varied and had something for everyone!<\/p>\n Unfortunately, we didn\u2019t get the chance to use the swimming lake. But on Thursday afternoon, we went on a hike into the Liechtenstein Gorge, which had just opened for the new season that very day.<\/p>\n On Friday, we presented the sketches we had prepared during our English sessions \u2013 in front of all our classmates and teachers. After such a great English week, it felt natural to speak only in English, and we didn\u2019t miss out on the laughter!<\/p>\n One pupil said at the end: \u201cEverything here is like in a six-star hotel!\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_divider _builder_version=“4.27.4″ _module_preset=“default“ theme_builder_area=“post_content“ hover_enabled=“0″ sticky_enabled=“0″ divider_weight=“3px“][\/et_pb_divider][et_pb_text _builder_version=“4.27.4″ _module_preset=“default“ global_colors_info=“{}“ theme_builder_area=“post_content“]<\/p>\n Sommersport – eine ganze Woche lang – plus-Englisch mit viel Action – eine ganz neue Sache, was wird uns erwarten?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Wir fuhren das erste Mal nach St. Johann im Pongau, um dort die Kombination unserer Englisch-Sprachwoche mit Sommersportaktivit\u00e4ten auszuprobieren.<\/p>\n Nach der Anfahrt \u00fcber die Autobahn und der Stadt Salzburg erreichten wir bereits nach 10 Uhr unsere Unterkunft \u2013 das Jugendhotel Schlosshof. Neben den H\u00e4usern mit den vielen Zimmer sahen wir die Indoorhalle sowie den gro\u00dfen Badesee und hofften, dass wir trotz des Regenwetters unsere gro\u00dfen Zehen irgendwann reinstecken k\u00f6nnten.<\/p>\n Die Wochentage begannen mit dem Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck, zu einer Zeit, wo wir sonst schon im Unterricht sitzen. Alle unsere Mahlzeiten nahmen wir uns immer vom Buffet \u2013 und was f\u00fcr eines! Wir wurden verw\u00f6hnt mit verschiedenen Suppen, Schnitzel, K\u00e4ssp\u00e4tzle, Wraps, Schweinebraten und Kaiserschmarren, aber der H\u00f6hepunkt war der Grillabend am Donnerstag mit dem meterlangen Buffet.<\/p>\n Vormittags standen immer vier Einheiten von English in Action am Programm, nachmittags zwei und dann kamen unsere Favoriten: sporteln, r\u00e4tseln und die tollen Angebote in der Indoorhalle genie\u00dfen. Am liebsten sprangen wir Trampolin, spielten Tischtennis oder Tischfu\u00dfball. In der f\u00fcr uns reservierten Halle konnten wir Teambewerbe durchf\u00fchren und alle m\u00f6glichen Ballspiele machen. Bei den Team Challenges und der Outdoor Rallye bewiesen wir, dass wir ganz flexibel zusammenarbeiten k\u00f6nnen. Also ein \u00e4u\u00dferst facettenreiches Programm und f\u00fcr alle war etwas dabei! Der Badesee blieb von uns leider unben\u00fctzt, daf\u00fcr wanderten wir am Donnerstagnachmittag in die Liechtenstein-Klamm, die an diesem Tag zum ersten Mal in der neuen Saison ge\u00f6ffnet war.<\/p>\n Am Freitag pr\u00e4sentierten wir dann noch die selbst geschriebenen und einge\u00fcbten Sketches vor allen Mitsch\u00fcler:innen und Lehrkr\u00e4ften.
